Options from this screen
F1 - Help (Available throughout the whole program)
Displays a help screen with instructions on how to use the options available from this screen. This provides information on running Video Shoppe without having to refer to the manual.
CTRL & B - Bulk Return
Bulk return is available at the Rental Screen by pressing the CTRL and B keys at the same time.
F2 - Search by Phone Number
Gives you the option of finding a customer by their phone number. If phone numbers are used as ID numbers this option may not be needed, if some other method is used for member ID numbers this can be a useful feature for finding a customer who has forgotten their ID number.
F3 - Family ID
Family members can be assigned a special ID number. This number can be used to restrict rentals according to ratings. When the family ID number is used, the receipt is printed with the family members ID number. The history of these rentals is tracked along with all other family members and can be referred to later to see which family member rented a certain movie.
F4 - Paid Outs
Permits paying for small cash items from the cash drawer. These transactions are tracked in the daily transaction file. The clerk name is tracked with the Paid Out and can be referenced by the manager.
F5 - Reserve, Waiting List
Allows you to view reservations by date or rent ID#. It will also let you put customers on a first come, first serve waiting list that can be printed. When a customer on the waiting list rents a movie it is removed from the waiting list or reservation list automatically.
F6 - Employee Hours ( Not in Video 2000 )
The F6 function acts as a time clock. Allows sign in and sign out of employees. Tracks hours for these employees and prints a report of these hours. This feature will simplify the tracking of hours for payroll purposes.
F7 - Movies Out
Pops up a table that displays information on when movies are due in and what movies are in.
F8 - Stars (Not in Video 2000)
Video Shoppe and Video Shoppe Deluxe will let you look for all titles that have a specific Star or Director by using the F8 key. After pressing F8 type a few characters of the Star you are looking for, choose the Star and press ENTER. All titles with that Star will display. * This will not work if no Stars have been entered :)
F9 - Change Clerks
Used for changing clerks. The clerks name is printed on the invoice and tracked with each transaction. This transaction information can be checked by the manager at any time. This option will not work if you have not set up passwords.
F10 - Customer ID# by Rent ID#
Finds customers from the movie ID# of a movie that's checked out. If a movie is left on the counter and you want to return this movie from the Point of Sale screen to find out who has rented them, press F10, enter or scan the movie ID and press ENTER. The person with those movies will be brought into the Point of Sale screen. Press ENTER and the customer with a list of movies out displays on the screen. At that time you can return the movies and rent more movies to that customer.
Other Options
To get a customer you can enter their ID# by typing it and pressing ENTER or by scanning the number in with a barcode reader. If an invalid number is entered a list of customers displays on the screen. You can look up the customer in an alphabetical list by typing a few characters of their name.
New customers can be added from this screen by bringing up the customer list and pressing INSERT to insert a new customer.
