Photo ID
Affordable Photo ID for your Video Store!
Using the Logitech QuickCam, which we purchased locally for about $80.00, VMT Software has designed Photo ID software that will work with our Windows Video program. You will need Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000 or XP on your computer and need to meet the specifications needed to use the QuickCam.
No more expensive camera's to worry about! As a matter of fact, you can choose any camera on the market. We only recommend the QuickCam because it seems to be available about anywhere, works good, and the software that comes with QuickCam works well. You can store up to 2 GB of pictures in our Photo Manager Database.
So if you've been having problems with customers giving you the wrong ID numbers or names, Photo Manager is the ideal solution. Click on the View Button, and if the picture exists, it displays automatically. If they haven't got a picture yet, Photo Manager will prompt you to take the picture and add it to its database.
Having photo ID in your store adds security. Now your clerks will KNOW who they are renting to!

Screen may be different in newest version.
This is the only screen your clerks will ever see to view the picture. You use your camera's software to take the picture. Because it is in windows, you simply leave these programs running, and click on the program you wish to use. Our program automatically writes the customer or family member ID to a file. Photo Manager simply looks at that ID every time you click on View Current Picture.
Networks:
Photo Manager works on a single computer or a network. You may have as many camera's as you like on the network, or just one camera. It is your choice. And there are no upgrade charges for Photo Manager for multiple stations, you use the same software. And if you want to put a camera on each station, just buy more camera's.
System Requirements:
For Photo Manager, you will need Windows 95, 98, 2000 or XP. You will want an extra 1 or 2 GB to store the photos. The following is a guide to determine how much room you will need on your hard disk for the picture file. The picture file can be up to 2GB. This means that if you have more customers, you will want to store smaller pictures.
| Picture Size (Resolution) | Picture File Size | # of Pictures Max |
|---|---|---|
| 160 x 120 | 60K | 33,333 |
| 176 x 144 | 77K | 25,975 |
| 320 x 240 (Optimum) | 230K | 8,600 |
| 352 x 288 | 306K | 6,535 |
| 640 x 480 | 922K | 2,169 |
