How can VMT Software offer lifetime support?
Many of our competitors say we cannot stay in business and offer lifetime support. They have been saying the same thing since we started lifetime support in 1991! Still after all these years we offer lifetime support and have no problem doing that for our customers that want it. Lifetime support will let you get help with your program anytime you need it without a yearly support fee!
This does not include program upgrades, upgrades to your program offer value and we do charge for the work we do. Features are added that makes our software do things that will make you money, like email marketing or web page generation. Features that let you make your own reports, DVD case covers and other cool stuff are added. Security features to help you with a possible problem employee can save you money and headaches. All these kinds of things require programming time and testing, something we do have to charge for. Working for your money, what a concept, that's what we do!
We wonder why they need to charge $300.00, $400.00, $500.00 or more a year for support. We wonder why they need to have their customers on the newest version to even offer support in some cases. ( At least that's what we have heard. ) Does it require a large staff of support people to keep their software running? Why do you think they need to charge these expensive support fees?
We wonder why they hold their customer’s data, your data, like movies, customers etc. in such a format that you cannot export this data to a standard file format like ASCII or DBase. Could it be they want to make it as hard as possible to change to a different program?
Although exporting is possible in some programs, in many it is not. This is your data and there should at least be an option available at a reasonable cost to do this. ( We have this of course. ) This has been a question we have asked for many years and no one from the other companies will answer it.
You are looking for new software if you are reading this. Before you spend your hard earned money, these are things you need to think about. Just because a company is really BIG don't let them bully you with FEAR ( False Evidence Appearing Real ) in their sales pitch.
