VMT Software has been programming, selling and supporting Video Rental POS systems since 1989. Ever since our very first product was introduced over 15 years ago we have pursued one concept. This concept was to make an easy to use computer program with all the features needed to run your store at an affordable price. We introduced three products over the first 3 years to better suit the needs of our customers, large and small. 

In the beginning, all three of our POS systems were made to run in IBM compatible computers using the DOS operating system. As time passed, Microsoft saw a need to make using computers easier for everyone and introduced Windows. At first, Windows was interesting, but not the choice for most business owners. By 1998 Windows had evolved into a standard for almost everyone. In 1997 we started development of Video Deluxe for Windows. 3 1/2 years later in June 2000 Video Deluxe for Windows started to ship.

As we programmed the new windows version, we used all the experience and knowledge we had obtained during the previous 10 years of writing the dos programs. We also used much of the functional code and file structures from the dos programs. This gave Video Deluxe a unique opportunity to be a program with 10 years of experience and testing before it was released. It also let us use all of the files that our customers had been using for years, so they wouldn't lose any information, if and when they upgraded to the new windows version. And being able to program in Windows gives the programmers unlimited options that can be added to the software. Video Deluxe takes advantage of the ease of use Windows offers. It is the program of choice for anyone with a modern computer.
